Welcome to the site designed for those looking for a special hymn
This site is a spin-off from my popular site about hymn books (www.hymns.faithweb.com). I often get enquiries about the words of various hymns, some of which I am unable to answer, as these hymns do not appear in the many hundreds of books that I own, primarily because they are popular in the USA, but not in Britain, from where my collection largely comes.
To help avoid unnecessary requests, this site will gradually build up a list of the first line of every hymn for which I do have details. At present, it lists hymns appearing in British Methodist hymn-books, from 1780 to the present day.

I am always happy to answer your questions about hymns, although you must recognise that I am a working minister, and may not be able to reply by return. I have never charged for the time I spend answering questions, although I will always gratefully welcome any donations you might care to offer! |
